Ultrasounds and Doppler / Vascular Studies
Pelvic, Abdominal, Thyroid, Parathyroid, etc
We perform all kinds of ultrasounds at Imaging El Paso. The procedures that require preparation before arrival are marked with an * asterisk.
An ultrasound is an exam done with a Doppler. A doppler is a sound wave that passes through tissue and bounces back to a receiver that creates a picture according to the thickness of the tissue. Different organs have different densities/thicknesses. As these sound waves pass through and bounce off, the image is created. It is painless. You can even view your image as the technologist is taking it!

- Hysterosonogram
If your doctor orders a hysterosonogram, he/she wants to look at the internal structure of the uterus. A saline solution is introduced into the uterus while the sonogram is done. Internal uterine polyps become visible with this technique.
- Carotid and Vascular Doppler
Carotid, Arterial and Vascular Dopplers are ultrasounds of the arteries and veins. By looking inside the veins, we can tell how your blood is flowing and if there is a problem with blockages within the veins.
